New Girl!

Guess what everyone?! There's another new girl on the blogging network like me it's... Taylor Watson! You may see that Taylor has posted a lovely comment on Readalot and that her blog is super fabulous! To access her blog all you need to do is click on the last blog post I wrote, then click on comments and click on her name and then it will take you to her profile so click on Quick Book Reviews. Taylor recommends the Sweet Valley High series which sounds amazing! So check out her fantastic blog! And I have a very important message to the people who are entering the Writing Competition. You are not allowed to write more than 750 words so please don't write more than that. But another exciting thing awaits, it's my author and book of the week! And they are... Kaspar Prince Of Cats and Lyn Gardner! Kaspar Prince Of Cats is all about a boy who works as a sort of bellboy at the Savoy Hotel. But one day a rich lady comes to stay with her beautiful, shiny cat who is named Kaspar and then she sadly dies so the boy looks after Kaspar but for how long? Oh and by the way I'm not telling you the boy's name because it's your quest to find out! Lyn Gardner is a brilliant author who has written lots of books about a girl, Olivia, who goes to stage school and has to try and fit in. I'm afraid that's all for now! Best Wishes! Abigail Bronte

Brillant Bookworms

Hiya bookworms! Had a good weekend? I have! I watched Super 8 at the cinema and it was really good. Have you guys done anything exciting lately? Another thing you should know is that I've made an email so you can all contact me. My email is abbybronte@hotmail.co.uk, so if you want to chat to me or send a shout out just email. My book of the week is... The Famous Five: Five on a Treasure Island and my author of the week is... Narinder Dhami. Famous Five (1) is all about three siblings named Julian, Dick and Anne who go and stay with their Auntie Fanny, Uncle Quentin and George (Georgina). Soon all the children start to bond with each other and of course, George's loving dog, Timothy. But will they find the treasure and loose Kirrin Island forever? Find out in Famous Five! Narinder Dhami is an author who writes lots of books about football which she loves. One of her most popular books is Bend It Like Beckham which I have mentioned before. So that's my opinion but what's yours? Tell me your favourite book and author and I'll feature them in the next one if you like! Oh and I nearly forgot! Keep Reading! Bye-di-byes! Abigail Bronte

Classy Classics

Bonjour! How have you all been? You know, I think old classics like Ballet Shoes are really interesting. Usually those kind of books are made into films and then everyone's desperate to read it! Ask your parents, grandparents and godparents if they have any classics that you could maybe borrow. Another kind of story is comedy. Comedy always involves lots of funny stories for you to enjoy just like books. The other day I got given an electronic dictionary bookmark which is fabulous! So if you don't understand a word you've just read or want to find out the definition then you just type the word in and it comes up with the answer. Why not make your own bookmark?! All you need is a piece of card, a piece of paper, glue or sellotape, some pens, pencils and any other arty things. It would be lovely if any of you could send a photo in of your bookmarks. Having a major crisis? You don't have a book to read?! Then why don't you head down to your local library and take a book out, they always have good books there. Moving on, I have some more details for all the people who are interested in the short story competition. The competition will be in 2012 and the prizes might be a ds game, a book or a voucher for a shop. And the topic your stories must be about is "Friendship". If anybody needs any ideas to get them started I'm happy to help. I will be judging the competition so make me impressed. One thing I like in a story is "wow words" as all the teachers call them. I also like stories with a twist or a massive problem in the middle or that someone finds something exciting. Thats all from me peeps! Abigail Bronte

New month!

Hello! It's a new month and I'm ready to tell you about even more books! Most of you reading this either read chapter books or short story books. But what do the younger ones read? They read picture books and moving story books! Reading to someone else is fun so if you have a brother or sister who can't read like you do yet why don't you read to them. Anyway I have picked another book and author of this week and they are... The Story Of Tracy Beaker and Enid Blyton! Tracy Beaker is all about a girl who lives in a care home (which she calls the dumping ground). She gets up to a lot of mischief and madness but always brightens up everyone's day! Enid Blyton was a fantastic author who wrote probably thousands of books! She wrote many of my favourite series and died peacefully. If any of you would like to get to know me more just take a look at my lovely profile. Does anyone have a shout out for someone special? If so comment and I'll maybe write about you or your special person in my blog. Moving on, school is here soon so I hope everyone's got their ties and shirt ironed! I love that feeling when you go back to school and see all your friends. If you can tell your friends about Readalot or talk about it that would be fabulous! Ciau!(That's italian for goodbye) Abigail Bronte
