Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my blog today! As you can tell from recent weather it's becoming utterly freezing! Autumn is slipping away and winter is approaching which means snow! Not just snow but Halloween, fireworks, Christmas, presents, interesting prayers and carols to sing. Today I've got loads of things I want to tell you and recommend to you. So of course we have our book and author of the day and they are... Million Dollar Mates and Megan McDonald. Million Dollar Mates is all about a teenage girl named Jess who is having a rather tough time. Her mum is dead, her parents have been split up and to make it worse now she's got to move to a new house with her Dad, brother Charlie and Dave the cat. At first Jess is not at all sure about the change and misses her Gran back at home but when Jess finds out that A-listers will be living in the posh apartments nearby Jess starts to cheer up. But for how long? This book is probably for nine and up and just so you know, the author of the book is called Cathy Hopkins and she is one of the most exciting writers in the world. If you are interested in Cathy Hopkins and her book then visit http://www.cathyhopkins.com/. Click on the link if you wish to access the website. Megan McDoanld is an author that you might have heard of and she is stunning. She writes the Judy Moody series and the Stink series too. I have read some of the Judy Moody's and they are rare (meaning trust me they rock!). I'm reading Judy Moody And The Not Bummer Summer at the moment and I found out that it's the book of the new screenplay! To watch the trailer of the uber cool movie coming out soon search Judy Moody And The Not Bummer Summer Trailer 2011. Another thing to remind you about is that if you want to see some of my older blog posts then scroll down the page and click "Older Posts". Please remember to email me at abbybronte@hotmail.co.uk to get an application form for my new Write-A-Story club or just chat to me about books. Be Fearless
Greetings my friends! It's great to finally get to chat to you again. In the title of this post you will see I have put "Be Fearless". The reason I chose that title is because too many people are just reading for the sake of it. Just because your best friend or your ultra awesome cousin is reading a Michael Morpurgo book and you're reading an Enid Blyton book doesn't mean you have to copy them. You read a book because you like it not because people at school or your siblings say it's "cool". Your book might be about a girl, a boy or maybe even a scared dragon who just wants to be reunited with his family. It doesn't matter as long as you enjoy it. Another situation that may arise is picking up a book, reading a chapter and then deciding that you don't like it. Don't worry about it! To be honest I have actually done that myself and just read another book instead. Okay and now it's time for book and author of the day, they are... Judy Moody Goes To College and Charles Dickens. Judy Moody Goes To College is about a girl called Judy who gets into a mood very quickly and gets to meet a tutor who goes to college. But Judy wants to discover college as well! Charles Dickens was a breathtaking author who wrote lots of books including the one and only Oliver Twist. And just a quick reminder, you can join Write-a-story club whenever you like but remember to email me to get your application form. Lots of love, Abigail Bronte

Amazing Authors
Good day everybody! Sorry I haven't wrote a new blog post for a week guys, but today I've got a brand new one for you. Just before I talk about books and authors I just want to remind you that you can email me any time about your favourite things and I promise I will reply. But now it's time to reveal to you my book and author of the day and they are... Oliver Twist and Sue Hampton! Oliver Twist is all about a boy who lives in the victorian times and travels to London to make his fortune. This book is a brilliant tale if you like classics and history. Sue Hampton is a fabulous author who writes tales on real life and fantasy, The Waterhouse Girl is her most famous book and is all about an illness a girl gets. So thats that and next I would like to tell you about Waterstone's which is a delightful bookshop where I like to get my books, there is a wide range of different books so everyone can find something for themselves. Just one more thing, I am going to start a club online called Write-a-story. By joining this club you can get your stories looked at first in the writing competition and write stories, poems and haikus for me to look at. You must email me to receive an application form so you can join. Don't worry all you need to fill in is a made up name and your age. I hope that many of you will join because later on in the year there will be more things to look, learn and do at the club. See ya! Abigail Bronte
