Non-Fiction
Hey everyone! Some people prefer non-fiction to fiction so they'll love The Guinness World Record Book. It's filled with the wackiest, coolest and most amazing records in the world! Even though I don't read a lot of non-fiction books I really like The Guinness World Record Book. But for all you fiction fans you'll love all of the Enid Blyton books. Why don't you start writing a story? It could be about a haunted house, a dance group or maybe an alien person! So that gave me an idea to share with you some of the story I'm writing here it is, First Term at Westfield Gardens: Lauren stood on the platform. Every girl, it seemed that ever lived was there on that platform. Mr and Mrs Walkinson waved her goodbye and kissed her gently on the cheek. Her sister Emma waved and hugged her too. Lauren was going to miss her family a lot. "Promise on your life you'll send me letters twenty four seven"said Mrs Walkinson smiling. "I promise"Lauren replied and hugged everyone again. Suddenly a loud train whistle came. "Must be your train darling"Mr Walkinson said and Emma nodded. They were right! Finally a red coloured steam train drew in at the station. And a man who was obviously the train driver shouted"Hop aboard!". Lauren grabbed her bags, said goodbye and ran onto the train. Well what did you think? I hope you liked it. For more info on books, authors and stories read this! Bye! Bye! Abigail Bronte

GO CRAZY!
Hi again book worms! There's something you should all know, if anyone tells you that the book or author you like isn't "Cool" then just ignore it. People like that do those kind of things because it makes them feel better but it doesn't make them cooler than you. Another thing, if you love reading then go crazy! Read as many books as you can or enter a competition with your friends. Reading in a way is similar to lots of other things for example maths and music. When you do maths you have to add numbers together and figure out the answer and in reading you read the story and at the end all your questions are answered. And in music an instrument or voice tells a sort of story in their lyrics and sound. So all these things are just like reading, sometimes you read without actually realising which is weird isn't it? This month I'm reading another version of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I haven't finished it yet but it's really gripping. There's also an Usborne version of Jane Eyre which some of you may like. Most boys and girls go back to school soon and school is a great place to read. Any girls out there who are huge footie fans? Well then you've got to read Bend It Like Beckham written by Narinder Dhami. Other books I know of by Narinder Dhami are her Beautiful Game series about football and friends. Thats all for now folks but I'll write soon! Abigail Bronte

Readalot Returns!
Hi everyone! Readalot is back! I'm so happy that people are starting to comment on the website. Anyway I have come up with my favourite author and book for today and they are... Drum roll please! J.K.Rowling and Dead Man's Cove. For all you Harry Potter and Lauren St John fans out there I hope you like this. As many of you know J.K.Rowling is the author of the famous Harry Potter series. Her books are all about a young boy named Harry who's parents were killed by an evil wizard Voldemort. Harry learns exciting, interesting and sad things on his journey to defeat Voldemort forever. I'm not going to say any more because I don't want to spoil the suprise. J.K.Rowling is now an extremely successful writer and an inspiration to us all. Dead Man's Cove is a fantastic book about a girl called Laura Marlin who goes to live with her Uncle Calvin but soon suspects some sort of mystery happening in St Ives. Lauren St John is the writer of this book and a great one she is. Would you like some info on your favourite authors? Or a book that will glue your eyes to all the pages. If so just leave a comment and I will try and include your thoughts too. I also thought I should mention that I'm going to be judging a little competition soon. All you have to do is write a short story about five hundred words and then send it in. I will give further information on this soon but for now enjoy reading! Toodles! Abigail Bronte

Welcome!!
Welcome everyone!
I am Abigail Bronte and this is my new blog. Readalot is obviously about books and I love books! So I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to share my love of reading with you all. Every week I will have a new post for you which I hope you will enjoy. I would also love it if any of you could comment on my weekly blog or share it as a link. What are your favourite books and authors? You will always find a new book and author on the website which you can read about and learn about. My favourite authors are Enid Blyton, Jacqueline Wilson, The Brontes, Eva Ibbotson, Lauren St John, Narinder Dhami and Pamela Cox. I love the Malory Towers series by Enid Blyton and Pamela Cox and I have read every single one. Enid Blyton wrote the first six and Pamela carried on when Enid sadly passed away. Lots of people are not fond of reading and prefer to watch TV or play computer games which is fine but if you read you will be able to write, spell and speak better. GO READING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See you next week, Abigail Bronte
